Skydance Paramount Set to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report

Skydance Paramount will begin large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.

The workforce reduction follow the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.

Further global layoffs are expected, as the firm planning to reveal all specifics via its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.

Previous updates suggested the firm planned to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 roles by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the organization had almost 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
